What is Photizo?
A non-invasive treatment tool for acute and chronic conditions which can be used on small animals as well as horses and livestock. It uses a combination of red and infrared light.
What does Photizo feel like?
You can only feel the pressure of the device on your skin and after a few doses in a single session it will start to get a little bit warm.
What does Photizo do?
It speeds up healing and promotes a faster recovery after injury, without complications like excess scar tissue or side effects. It can be used for drug-free long term pain management.
How does Photizo work?
It works by acting on the body and tissue at a cellular level by using wavelengths of LED light.
Cells are the building blocks of the body and if each cell is able to function optimally the body will heal itself but if there isn’t enough energy they can’t. Light therapy works by energising compromised cells and increasing blood flow using these highly beneficial wavelengths of LED (light emitting diode) light. When light therapy is applied quickly after acute injury the process of cell death is reversed which will lead to quicker healing and recovery following injury.
When a normal cell is compromised through injury, age or disease the energy of that cell diminishes and there isn’t enough energy for normal function. When Photizo is applied the cell ‘battery’ gets immediately recharged, there is fast cellular regeneration and it helps prevent cell death when applied within 4-6 hours of injury, any surrounding inflammation is removed and adequate oxygen and nutrients are ensured.
Why do we need light?
Light is an essential nutrient to humans/animals and plants. However, humans and domestic animals have become mal-illuminated (either we don’t get enough light or we’re getting the wrong kind of light). There can be a lack of Vitamin D which has been linked to numerous diseases in people. Red and near infrared is essential for cellular energy and we’ve got a deficiency in producing that.
How is Photizo different to laser?
Laser is a type of photobiomodulation like LED, laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It is the only type of manufactured light which stays coherent (like a beam) and doesn’t spread out. Whereas LED (light emitted diode) is a silicon microchip with various added substances each of which releases a different wavelength (colour) of light when electrically stimulated producing a non-coherent (spreads out) light.
They both produce similar biological effects and reviewed studies have shown there is no significant difference between them.
No protective clothing/eyewear is required when using Photizo but is so when using laser.
What conditions can Photizo be used for?
It can be used on all living cells; skin, blood, brain, hair, nails, fat, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bone/joints. It can be used on wounds (including bites and stings), infected wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, reduce muscle spasms and trigger point release, stiff joints, elbow and hip dysplasia, arthritis, general and deep tissue bruising, abscesses, skin conditions, stress fractures, mastitis, acute and chronic pain, it can help to clear inflammation and increase lymphatic activity, increase circulation, increase immune system activity, it has a calming effect on most animals by increasing endorphins and serotonin, regulates collagen production. New tissue is made with collagen and what you are essentially hoping to do by using photobiomodulation is regulate the formation of new collagen fibre and also mimic what the original tissue was supposed to do. The infrared wavelengths have been shown to be better at remodelling deeper tissues and collagen production. It can be used on chronic scar tissue which while it may not completely or permanently break it down it has anecdotally been shown to make the tissues more elastic and improve mobility of the tissues.
Can Photizo cause damage/injury?
No, Photizo does not deliver enough power to damage the tissue but just enough to promote natural self-healing and pain relief.
